Complete set of 10 Russian Matryoshka nesting dolls, individually hand-painted with detailed faces, pink floral designs and metallic-gold accents. This impressive graduated set begins with a large outer doll measuring approximately 8¼ inches tall and continues down to a remarkably tiny final doll measuring approximately ½ inch. Each doll opens to hold the next smaller piece, and all 10 nest inside the largest doll. The cream, pink, brown and gold palette is especially decorative, while the visible wood grain, hand-painted details and traditional styling reflect Russian folk-art craftsmanship. The underside is unmarked, so the individual artist and workshop are unknown.
