Antique Union Hardware Double Pulley Block & Tackle Wood Iron Hook Anvil Mark

Antique wooden double-sheave block and tackle pulley attributed to Union Hardware Company of Torrington, Connecticut, featuring the company’s distinctive anvil trademark medallion. This substantial old working pulley has a heavy wooden block housing two large metal sheaves, an additional smaller upper sheave, and a large iron hook. Remnants of the original red-painted finish remain on the hook and metal components, giving the piece excellent authentic industrial character. The wood has developed a deep, warm patina from age and use, while the iron hardware shows oxidation, finish loss and wear consistent with an old utilitarian piece. Condition Antique pre-owned condition with substantial age-related wear. Wood has scratches, marks, discoloration and surface wear. Metal components have oxidation, patina, scratches and considerable loss to the old red-painted finish. The maker’s medallion has oxidation but the anvil design remains visible.
